Duties and Responsibilities

The following reflects responsibilities for this job, but does not limit what may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

Provide energetic and enthusiastic customer service. Accurately take in all service work including service work orders, scheduling of repairs and completing repairs in a timely manner. Assist customers with their product selection. Communicate with store manager or head mechanic repair and warranty part needs. Develop and maintain knowledge of all merchandise in the bike department to effectively assist customers Assist with bike sales and any other bike floor duties as needed. Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager.

Minimum Requirements

Bike knowledge is a must. Previous bike mechanic experience is a big help. Will consider extra training for the right candidate. Ability to be self motivated, prioritize your workday, multitask and be detail-oriented. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and take direction well. Ability to create an excellent customer experience. Good time management skills. A sense of urgency

Compensation

Depends on level of experience and proficiency in mechanic skills. A working interview to determine skill & proficiency might be requested.

15-17/hour depending on experience & skill set. 35-40 hours a week depending on the season

Position Prerequisites

Bike Mechanic position requires standing up to 8 hours per shift as well as bending, leaning and kneeling on a regular basis. Applicant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in order to perform job functions. Applicant must be able to work in an environment where the climate can change frequently and be able to handle stressful situations. The job description is not meant to be all-inclusive. It is understood that the employee will also perform other reasonable related business duties if requested by the store manager.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate for this position is a Bicycle Wizard, highly skilled on working on all kinds of bicycles - from kids to electric, to the highest end electronic road and complex custom mountain bikes. You must be proficient at bleeding brakes, suspension service and tuning, dropper post adjustments and installs, general drivetrain tuning and changing flats in a flash. - Comfortable working with computers and mobile devices
